Navya Nair, the refreshing entrant has already bagged a special place in the heart of the Malayalam Film industry. This girl seems to have great belief in numerology as she has changed her name to Navya instead of Dhanya hoping for a better luck. Trained in dance, Navya Nair has been a hyper active teenager, whooping up at youth festivals and stage shows. She has won the honour of Kala Thilakam in the youth festival of Aleppey district, Kerala for her exceptional talent.

With her first movie ‘Ishtam’, opposite Dileep she attained admiration by winning the hearts of the Malayalees. Her second film Ranjit's Nandanam opposite Pritviraj established herself as one of the most promising of the new-generation actresses.

Now with eight rollicking hits like Nandanam, Mazhathullikilukam, Kunjikoonan, Kalyanaraman, Chathikkatha Chandu etc She is also showing that she knows the physics of success very well. She stepped to Tamil film through 'Azhagiya Theeyee' which made a good impact in the minds of Tamil audience also.

Personal Life

She comes from a village, Muthuukulam, in Alleppey District. She was the school topper in her 10th standard, scoring 92 per cent. She got her first offer for the film 'Ishtam' when she was in 10th. Due to her second film offer, she didn't fare well in the +2 exams. She then graduated with a BA in English. She has won the honour of Kalathilakam in the youth festival of Alleppey district. Daughter of Mr. Raju, working with the Telecom and mother Veena, a teacher with the M.S.M High Secondary school, Navya was a 12th student at M.S.M High secondary school when she entered the film industry. Investigative director K.Madhu is her uncle.She also had an ex boyfriend named Rahul who worked in HCL BPO ,Chennai for a short period. She married Mumbai-based businessman, Santhosh Menon, on January 21, 2010 and is now expecting her first child.
